OBS output setup

Generate a clean OBS streaming preset.

Choose your platform, upload speed, target quality, and encoder hardware. The generator returns the exact OBS output settings to start with before you run a private test stream.

OBS output settings generator

Use this as a starting preset, not a promise. If OBS reports dropped frames, lower video bitrate first or use the Dropped Frames Troubleshooter. If it reports skipped frames or encoder overload, lower FPS or change encoder settings.

Where these settings go in OBS

  • Output Mode: Advanced, then open the Streaming tab.
  • Rate Control: use CBR for Twitch, YouTube Live, Kick, TikTok, and most RTMP setups.
  • Keyframe Interval: start with 2 seconds unless your platform says otherwise.
  • Preset: Quality for hardware encoders, or x264 veryfast if you are CPU-only.

After applying the preset, record a 60-second local test and run a private stream if the platform allows it. If counters move, open the Dropped Frames Troubleshooter before changing multiple settings. If the test is stable, improve one setting at a time instead of changing bitrate, FPS, encoder, and scenes all at once.
